Zone Mechanic Skilled Worker
Location: 1800 Orleans Street, Baltimore, MD
Hours: Monday-Friday 11p-7:30a to include 3rd or 4th weekend
Pay range: $19-$23 per hour
Change all types of fluorescent and incandescent lights; changes, ballasts and fluorescent light starters; replace/clean light fixtures, lenses and grids.
Replace ceiling tiles, check and tightens all hand and guard railings; repair cubicle/window curtain tracks; install toilet paper and paper towel dispensers.
Transportation of vacant patient beds, the inspection and repair of shop equipment as well as assisting maintenance mechanics in maintenance and repair of building systems and components.
This work is performed under general supervision using tools and techniques of various trades including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing
High school diploma or GED
1 year related work experience in a construction trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical or mechanical
Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing tools and materials.
Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.
Ability to use tools and materials safely.
Ability to solve problems and manage information indicated herein
Require proficient written and verbal English communication skills, at least on an high school graduate level, to interact with departmental/JHH staff.
Identify and avoid hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights and other warnings.
Perform work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
