Position Overview:Reports to an assigned Licensed Certified Social Worker. Responsible for client assessments, counseling, and referrals to community resources. May provide supervision to social work students and contribute to the development of social work services and healthcare improvements.

Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center located in Baltimore, MD

Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; No weekends or holidays

• Evaluates psychosocial needs of clients and hospital or clinic patients
• Conducts interviews to gather relevant client information
• Provides counseling to patients and families
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery, welfare, and rehabilitation
• Initiates and completes timely discharge planning
• Provides information and referrals to appropriate community resources
• Participates in conferences, meetings, and staff development activities
• Maintains required documentation, records, and statistics
• Contributes to research initiatives and community peer meetings to enhance healthcare services
• Performs related duties as assigned

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
• Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW level.
• A minimum of two (2) years of clinical social work experience in an Emergency Department environment, with demonstrated experience serving pediatric and adult populations.
