Senior Accountant
Location- 3910 Keswick Road
Hours- Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p
Pay rate- $44.33 per hour
The Senior Accountant will be an engaged, team focused tax professional who will provide value-added tax services to an extensive healthcare organizational structure. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the federal/state tax laws including preparation and review of returns for not-for-profits, taxable C-corporations and partnerships. The individual will work closely with the Executive Director of Tax Compliance and the Assistant Director of Tax Compliance to plan and maintain an efficient/timely compliance process, reduce overall tax risk and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to the Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation and its affiliates. The position will research tax laws and regulations and document and communicate their impact broadly to the organization. This person will be a key tax consultant for affiliates and play a critical role in maintaining/establishing strong relationships with them.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Three to five years accounting related experience, for-profit or not for-profit tax experience. Experience with international taxation a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to engage peers and other appropriate individuals in gathering required financial information under tight deadlines. Must have very strong PC skills, particularly in Excel. SAP or Workday experience. strongly preferred. Must have strong analytical skill-set, including ability to analyze, research and interpret complex tax issues.
Ability to analyze transactions and prioritize wworkflow and to work independently to resolve issues identified. At the direction of the Executive Director of Tax Compliance must be able to perform tax researching using authoritative materials and document findings.
Ability to automate/improve work processes and procedures.
