Position Overview: This is for a pediatric cardiology role that would cover both inpt and outpt.

 

Location: Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities

    • Assist in coping with the challenges of caring for a child, managing their illness, hospitalization or outpatient treatment plan
    • Support families (children, parents, grandparents, siblings) encountering a crisis, experiencing grief and bereavement or adjusting to a diagnosis
    • Help the family and child gain a better understanding of the illness and what to expect while receiving treatment
    • Discuss illness and/or hospitalization with the child and their family
    • Advocate for the needs of the child and family with the medical team (doctors, nurses, therapists) to promote family-centered care
    • Develop pre- and posthospitalization care plans
    • Promote a safe family environment
    • Refer to community agencies for material assistance, including temporary lodging or resources needed to support a safe discharge plan

Qualifications

  • MS Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW or LCSW-C level.
  • Must have Epic Experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience 
  • Experience with Hospital and Pediatrics experience required.
