The diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for producing diagnostic information using the sonography equipment and related diagnostic techniques. The Sonographer acquires and evaluates data, while exercising discretion and judgment in performance of the clinical examination. Vascular experience is preferred e.g. Experience performing liver duplex, lower and upper extremity venous and transplant imaging.

Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C is now hiring Sonographers with vascular experience in the ultrasound department. 

Schedule:

  • 1:30PM-12AM
  • Friday to Monday (4 days 10 hours/day)

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound and vascular ultrasound studies.
  • Duties include performance of studies, documentation, evaluation of images, portable examinations, high level disinfection duties per protocol.

Qualifications

  • RDMS Required. 
  • Must have attended an approved school for Diagnostic Sonography or have equivalent experience which is accepted for registration with the R.D.M.S. Must be registered in abdomen or OB-GYN by the R.D.M.S.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • HS diploma or equivalent including successful completion of an approved curriculum in diagnostic sonography. 
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience required.
