    Under the direction of the quality improvement and safety committee, this individual gathers, manages, analyzes, and disseminates data for the department’s quality improvement and safety projects. The individual will be knowledgeable about sources of data for QI and Safety Projects. When data is not already available, the Safety Senior Data Coordinator (SSDC) will be responsible for developing data collection tools, and implementing strategies for collection of pertinent data. The SSDC is actively involved in collecting, storage, and management of these data. Together with clinical teams, this individual will assist in the analysis of data collected and assure the data reports from the QI and Safety projets are made availabe to thosw who need them.



    Bachelors of Science or Arts degree in Business or healthcare related field.


    Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare database developent.

    Proficient with various software packages-spreadsheet, database, statiscal analysis, and data presentation graphics.

    Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Power point proficiency with the ability to learn specialized programs as appropriate.

    Knowledge of medical terminology.

    Analytical ability required to gather data develop tools and strategies for collection when data are not readily available.

    Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with personnel.

    Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form.

    Ability to manage multiple, complex projects.
