    We are currently seeking a Maryland-licensed Social Worker for a temporary assignment at Johns Hopkins Hospital on the Psychiatry unit.   

    The Clinical Social Worker provides direct psychological, social and practical care to a select caseload of patients and families including social work assessments, problem identification, goal setting and implementation of care plans.   Makes referrals to outside agencies and coordinates continuity of care. Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Contributes to the attainment of organizational goals. 

    8:30am - 5:00pm

    LGSW or LCSW-C required.    Hospital experience is strongly preferred.     

     

    Responsibilities

    The Social Worker on the Psychiatry Unit will provide psychotherapy, behavioral treatment, illness education, interdisciplinary teamwork, and billable group coverage.  Must plan/ arrange/ coordinate aftercare with OP providers/ managed care.

     

    Attends rounds and works with an interdisciplinary treatment team. 

     

    Runs psychotherapy groups. 

     

    Completes comprehensive discharge plans. 

     

    Maintains proper documentation up to department standards. 

     

    Educates and supports patients as well as families about the illness and the team's plan for treatment. 

     

    Fills out social work portion of the individual treatment plan.

     

    Facilitates family meetings.

     

       

    Familiarity with EPIC is a plus.  

     

     

    Qualifications

    MSW from an accredited school of social work required.  

     

    Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LGSW or LCSW-C level.  

     

    3 years of experience in providing clinical social work services.  Hospital experience strongly preferred.
