    We are currently seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech for a temporary assignment at Howard County General Hospital.   


    Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.


    Monday - Friday,  10:00am - 6:30pm.  




    The Certified Sterile Processor: 


    Decontaminates instruments and operates decontaminating equipment according to established procedures.  

    Assembles surgical instrument sets, within a standard time frame and checked for completeness and accuracy.  

    Packages surgical instrument sets, using the appropriate packaging materials and using appropriate documentation. 

    Prepares articles for sterilization and operates sterilizing equipment. 


    High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.


    Knowledge of Basic Medical Terminology, Surgical Instruments, and Medical Surgical Supplies.

    High level of accuracy including documentation.

    CSPDT or IAHCSMM Certification


    Minimum one (1) year instrument decontamination or healthcare experience.
