We are currently seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech/ Implant Specialist for a temporary assignment at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Night shift, 9pm - 5:30am.
Must be certified, with Implant experience highly preferred.
Under the direction of a supervisor performs duties in the operating room to assist the surgical and anesthesia teams by troubleshooting and supporting implant cases, maintaining instrumentation and supplies, and educating others related to surgical implant procedures. Inspects and verifies proper function of implant instruments and refills implant trays with implantable materials after case-use. Makes recommendations to management on the purchase of new or replacement implant instrumentation and implant systems for the operating rooms.
Prepares necessary implants for cases.
Monitors OR scheduling needs/conflicts for implant trays and reports these to the appropriate service designee.
Implant Resource to staff for implant cases.
Consistently maintains correct pair of implant items in trays and inventory.
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Required: CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification.
Minimum 2 years' surgical or instrument processing experience required.
Knowledge of Surgical Instruments and Medical Surgical Supplies.
Completion of basic medical terminology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of accuracy including documentation.
Ability to complete basic computer skills.
