Effectively supports the organization by maintaining system requirements and functional design specifications ensuring design and integration standards are met for assigned Johns Hopkins All Children's computer systems. Participates in implementing/upgrading projects and includes requirements definition, design, development, training and support per the system life cycle methodologies and system development standards. Provides end user support and collaborates with end users to provide work-flow analysis to support departmental and organizational efficiencies, objectives and goals while following applicable policies and procedures.
Demonstrates functional knowledge of assigned application design requirements, build tools, process flows, data flows, database concepts, and integration with other applications to ensure the system is used to its greatest functionality and system updates/changes are completed with minimal unforeseen issues.
Demonstrates analytical thought processes which lead to identifying the root cause of an issue, possible viable solutions, the impact on end users and a recommended course of action while discerning the impact and urgency of the issue ensuring issues are resolved accurately, timely with highest priority issues resolved first and with minimal rework required.
Creates, maintains, and executes test plan which are up to date, ready for use, and are executed in writing for all new system and functionality implementations, changes to vendor code and system upgrades which include test scenarios that are designed to test all possible outcomes of design and/or workflow/process change to ensure systems/functionality implemented have no significant negative impact on end users.
Develop and maintain system related workflow, dataflow and procedures documentation for all systems assigned to ensure continuity of support, and training for subsequent new hires.
Participates with Information Technology Management in planning, organizing and analyzing new and current systems applications and associated processes to satisfy end users short and long term needs.
Works well within the team including willingness to compromise, participate nonconstructive group discussion, being open minded, willingness to share ideas calmly to promote achievement of goals, actively participate in meetings, display professional attitude and respect the meeting agenda to promote a cohesive team environment.
Participates in training programs, stay current on industry trends and remain compliant on skills applicable to assigned duties.
Associate degree with 3 years system building and/or process application experience.
3 years of experience demonstrating knowledge of systems analysis methodologies, system design and installation tasks, workflow process analysis and software application systems implementation
