We are seeking a Staffing Coordinator to support the after-hours staffing operations of Intrastaff. This includes taking requests for temporary personnel, placing staff into open assignments, handling cancellations and call-outs, and all other calls that come in during the shift.
This is a work-from-home position averaging 10-20 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is a must.
Shifts are 10 hours on weekdays and 20 hours on weekends.
Weekday hours: 5pm - midnight plus 4:30am - 8am.
Weekend hours: 8am - midnight plus 4:30am - 8am.
Staffing / recruitment experience is preferred, but more important are great phone skills, a good sense of humor, attention to detail, and above average computer skills.
It is preferred that you live within driving distance of our office in Lutherville, MD in order to participate in occasional meetings and office events. Training will also be held on site.
Summary: Primarily responsible for coordination of temporary personnel in the staffing process within Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Coordinate staffing requests for Johns Hopkins Health System affiliates. Serve as liaison, after hours, with outside temporary agencies.
Receives requests for temporary personnel needs. Reviews verbal requests via phone for needs of a temporary employee.
Develops and maintains knowledge of units and the qualifications needed for each unit and/or able to ask appropriate questions to the “after hours” caller to obtain information.
Obtains qualified staff to meet departmental needs. Ensures that the individual (s) meets the qualifications before placement.
Calls candidates and effectively communicates all job details.
Enters cancellations and assignments into electronic system.
Summarizes on-call events and sends report to appropriate Intrastaff email.
Assists and acts as liaison between outside staffing agencies and departments.
Acts as the point person to receive all requests from departments/hospitals.
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of an Associates degree or equivalent experience (4 years' experience without an Associates degree).
2 years of work experience required in staffing/recruiting/interviewing; or in an industry with transferable skills. General knowledge of various healthcare roles is helpful.
Requires general knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Ability to handle a high volume of calls with courtesy, respect, and caring behaviors.
Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with diverse groups of people internal and external to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Analytical and strong organizational skills required to assign appropriate temporary staff as needed, to effectively respond to cancellations and schedule changes, and to react to routine and non-routine situations that may arise.
