Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, providing temporary support to a variety of the Johns Hopkins locations. The American Heart Association Certified Instructor under the direction of JHH Training Center Coordinator, plans, organizes implements and evaluates Health Care Provider CPR, and or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification training.

Responsibilities

 

 

    • Provides educational instruction and testing on the principles and skills of Basic Life Support or Advanced Life Support certification training as required by the American Heart Association.
    • Conducts student assessments and evaluates students according to current AHA guidelines and materials; provides or recommends appropriate remediation when necessary.
    • Applies didactic principles of training to improve participant’s skills while continuously monitoring their skill level and body mechanics
    • Supervises while class is going on to offer effective, safe and motivating environment for physical activity.
    • Organizes and completes physical set up of equipment in classroom or simulation setting. This includes transportation of equipment for in situ training on clinical units

 

Qualifications

Two years of college, professional training or equivalent experience.

Maintains mastery of course content and skills' uses interactive teaching techniqures in student training. 

Provides effective and ongoing feedback to students.  Adhere to AHA guideline and curricula.

 

Current American Heart Association Instructor certification in either or all of the three class disciplines.

 

 High fidelity simulation manikins, low fidelity skill manikins, code carts, monitors are used.  Capability to lift 40 pounds unassisted, up to 200 lbs. assisted required.  Ability to use general office, telephone systems, other electronic equipment required.
